Thigh Lift Surgery (Thighplasty)

Many women experience saggy or wrinkled thighs. This is often the result of gravity, genetics, age, significant weight loss, or a combination of these factors. While it may be common, we understand how frustrating excess skin can be. It can make it difficult to wear the clothes you want to wear, and it may make your workouts or even gentle physical activity uncomfortable. Fortunately, the right doctor can have you looking and feeling like yourself again with a common procedure: the thigh lift.

A thigh lift is a surgical procedure that removes loose skin from the inner thighs. It isn’t designed for fat or weight loss; however, fat in the area will be removed as well. It’s designed to give you the tighter, smoother, and more proportionately contoured thighs you desire.

Reasons for Getting a Thigh Lift

One of the main reasons why women may want a thigh lift is to regain their confidence. It is a great feeling to be able to wear shorts or skirts again and to feel comfortable working out and moving your body freely.

You may choose to have your thighs lifted simply because of gravity and the natural aging process workout against you. It can also help you enjoy smooth, toned thighs once again. Or you may choose to have a thigh lift because you have lost a significant amount of weight, and you now have excess skin you’re unhappy with. Thigh lifts may also be combined with body contouring through liposuction if you want to lose excess fat in your thighs and tighten up the skin in that area at the same time.

What to Expect from a Thigh Lift at NuBody Concepts

Depending on your body type, aesthetic goals, and your surgeon’s preferences, you may choose to undergo a mini or full thigh lift.

A mini thigh lift involves a smaller incision that only affects your groin area. It is performed to improve the look and feel of the skin in your inner thighs. A full thigh lift involves an incision from your groin around to the fold that separates your buttocks and the back of the thigh. Additionally, and depending on how loose your skin is, an incision from the groin down the inner thigh is necessary. This procedure will improve the look and feel of your entire thighs.

At NuBody Concepts, we perform all of our procedures using a combination of local anesthesia and IV sedation. This combination not only reduces risk as well as cost, but it helps promote a faster and more comfortable recovery time.

Recovering from a Thigh Lift

Following a thigh lift, your recovery time will depend on your body and the extent of the procedure. Most women will have soreness and discomfort for a few days following the procedure—which (as recommended by your doctor) can be managed with pain medication, heat/cold compresses, and rest.

Your doctor will give you specific recommendations, but, in general, we recommend that you avoid heavy lifting and physically stressful activities for the next 4–6 weeks. Some bruising will be normal as you heal, but that should go away within a couple of weeks. Your incisions will gradually fade and flatten as you continue to heal as well.

We want to help you look and feel better than ever. If you’re considering a thigh lift to help you improve your appearance and confidence, please reach out to us. We’d love to answer all of your questions—whether it’s over the phone, by email, or during an in-person consultation.
