How Much Does Skin Tightening Cost?
At NuBody Concepts Cosmetic Surgery in Nashville and Memphis, minimally-invasive skin tightening starts at $6,300 for the first treatment area. To receive an exact quote, we encourage you to schedule a consultation with one of our plastic surgeons.
Please note that all our radio frequency assisted lipolysis (RFAL) skin tightening prices include liposuction on the treatment area. There are several factors that impact the exact price of a skin tightening procedure. Make sure you read on to learn how to budget for skin tightening.
Number of Treatment Areas
How many areas you want to have treated determines the overall cost of your procedure. If you have more than one area treated, the price per area of skin tightening will drop. For this reason most patients prefer to have several areas treated at once.
See the chart below for the baseline skin tightening cost at NuBody Concepts:
# Areas: | 1 Area | 2 Areas | 3 Areas |
Starting at: | $6,300 | $7,700 | $9,000 |
Please note that these are “starting at” prices that may be adjusted up depending on area size and other factors established in your one-on-one consultation.
What is considered an area?
Inner thighs, outer thighs, and upper arms come in pairs, meaning both sides count as one area. Some larger regions are made up of separate areas, like upper abdomen and lower abdomen.
Below you will see a list of separately priced skin tightening areas at NuBody Concepts Nashville and Memphis:
- upper abdomen
- lower abdomen
- lower back
- hips and waist
- inner thighs
- outer thighs
- bra roll
- male chest
- upper arm
- chin
- neck
What Is Included in Your Skin Tightening Price?
According to RealSelf, the cost of skin tightening with BodyTite or Renuvion covers a wide range, anywhere from $700 to $15,000. The reason for this is simple: Each plastic surgeon has a different way of pricing the procedure, and a patient can choose to have just one area treated, or many areas.
All-Inclusive Pricing vs Fee-Based Pricing
As we’ve seen above, the number of areas treated plays a role. Obviously, the procedure gets more expensive the more area the doctor covers. However, that is not the only reason for the pricing variations. Another big difference is whether a surgeon prices their services inclusive of all costs, or whether separate fees are added on to a base price.
As you can imagine, it is very important to know what is included in your skin tightening quote and what isn’t. Are line items such as anesthesia, operating room facilities, surgeon fees, and even compression garments included in your quote, or will you be billed separately? Are taxes added on our included?
At NuBody Concepts, all prices are all-inclusive. What you are quoted is your final price.
We even apply the consultation fee you paid upfront (ranging from $50 to $100) to the service if you proceed with it.
Skin Tightening Price With Liposuction
Make sure you also ask if your price quote includes liposuction. At NuBody Concepts, we include liposuction in all our Renuvion and BodyTite procedures. It makes a lot more sense to remove any excess fat prior to contracting the surrounding skin, even if there aren’t large amounts of fat.
The two procedures – liposuction and radio frequency assisted lipolysis aka “skin tightening” – are very similar and require the same “wetting solution” to apply anesthesia to the treatment areas. You will achieve much better results if the fat is removed before the skin is tightened. We therefore only offer this service as a combo package with all-inclusive pricing.
When you compare BodyTite or Renuvion price quotes between providers and you see a price that looks much better than the others, it most likely means that liposuction is not included in that quote.
Regional Plastic Surgeon Price Differences
Skin tightening costs can vary greatly based on your geographic location. Depending on factors such as the cost of medical education, office rents, or consumer demand, you could be charged $5,000 in one market and $15,000 in another for essentially the same service.
There is such a thing as cosmetic surgery tourism. Certain low-cost countries such as Mexico, India, or Turkey capitalize on the influx of patients searching for better prices than in their home country – namely the United States. We don’t generally recommend doing this, as you won’t be guaranteed that the same high safety standards are observed in other countries.
Within the United States, however, it is perfectly safe to travel to another region for a more affordable offering. Especially if you live in a high-cost region such as the Atlanta, Chicago, New York, or Los Angeles metropolitan area, you might be able to save thousands of dollars without sacrificing your safety by coming to Nashville, TN for your skin tightening or other cosmetic procedure. Please make sure to ask us about information for out-of-town patients.
Financing and Payment Options
Your total skin tightening cost is just one part of the equation. Being able to spread the expense over time rather than paying all at once can greatly affect affordability.
Ask if your plastic surgeon cooperates with one or several medical financing providers to offer interest-free payment plans. Using your credit score you’ll be able to apply for such a plan, and this will help you budget for your RFAL procedure.
Don’t know whether you qualify? Visit our Payment Options page for a free credit score check. If it is above approximately 600, you will qualify for medical financing from one of our lenders (each provider varies slightly in its credit score cutoff). Once approved, schedule a consultation with our plastic surgeon and make sure to bring your financing account information to the appointment.
A note on health insurance: Like most cosmetic surgery, radio frequency assisted lipolysis is considered an elective procedure. This means that most likely your health insurance plans will not cover it.
Repeat Treatments
Don’t confuse a payment plan that allows you to pay in monthly installments with a procedure that needs repeat treatments.
Minimally-invasive skin tightening using RFAL is a one-time procedure that does not require repeat treatment. However, other skin tightening treatments, particularly non-invasive ones such as Exilis or Morpheus, do require several treatments for maximum effect. Typically these are spaced 1-2 months apart. However, the price you are quoted for such treatments should be an all-inclusive price that covers the entire treatment course.
Surgeon Fees
One factor that will influence the cost of your skin tightening procedure is the level of experience your plastic surgeon brings to the table.
Again, this doesn’t mean that you should expect an added “surgeon surcharge” on top of the skin tightening base price. You can reasonably expect that your price quote includes all costs. However, if the cost seems on the high end compared to your research, it could be due to your surgeon’s experience level. A general surgeon with less experience may charge less than a board-certified plastic surgeon with many years of experience performing exactly the procedure you’re looking for. In this case, paying more for the added experience will pay off in the long run, because you’re more likely to get the results you’re looking for.
