Yes. IPL (Intense Pulse Light) uses broad-spectrum light to target various skin concerns including age spots, sun damage, freckles, rosacea, and uneven skin tone. It’s often called a “photofacial.” In a personal consultation with our aesthetician, we will provide you with a recommendation for the treatment best suited to your skin type and goals.

The key difference is that laser uses a single, focused wavelength of light, while IPL (Intense Pulse Lilght) uses a broad spectrum of multiple wavelengths. IPL therapy is gentler on the skin but therefore less targeted and usually requires more sessions than laser therapy for comparable results.

IPL is a good option to treat sun damage, pores, fine lines, elasticity/collagen loss, and bacterial acne, especially across larger treatment areas.

Recovery time depends on treatment depth. Light resurfacing may cause 2-3 days of redness and flaking, while deeper treatments may require 5-7 days of peeling and recovery before returning to normal activities. During your consultation we will customize treatment depth based on your goals and lifestyle.

First, your skin is cleaned and numbed with a local anesthetic. You’ll wear protective eyewear, and during the treatment, a laser wand will be moved over the area, which can cause a mild stinging or snapping sensation. After the procedure, protective dressings and ointment are applied to prevent infection and aid healing, and you should expect redness and swelling.

A laser resurfacing session can take from about 30 minutes to two hours, depending on the size of the area being treated. Most sessions take 30-45 minutes.

Preparation varies by treatment type. Generally, avoid sun exposure, certain medications, and products that may increase sensitivity. We will provide specific pre-treatment instructions based on your chosen procedure.

Discomfort is minimal. We apply a topical anesthetic to ensure comfort throughout the procedure. Our laser also has a built-in cooling system that further alleviates discomfort.

Temporary redness, peeling, swelling, or sensitivity to sunlight. Proper aftercare is essential for best healing. We will provide you with a detailed list of pos-treatment instructions to safeguard your results.

Many clients see significant improvement after just one session. For deeper concerns, 2–3 treatments may be recommended, spaced several months apart.

The Erbium YAG is generally safest for lighter to medium skin tones. Darker skin types may be better suited for gentler treatments such as RF Microneedling (Morpheus) or IPL—we’ll advise during your consultation. Also view the list of all MedSpa treatments available at NuBody Concepts.

Results are long-lasting, but natural aging and sun exposure continue to affect skin. Maintenance treatments every 1–2 years help extend results.

We use the advanced Rohrer Spectrum laser system, which combines five powerful modalities in one platform: IPL, 810-Diode, Q-Switch YAG, Long Pulsed YAG, and Erbium YAG. In addition, we use the Hollywood Spectra laser for select treatments, based on what is discussed in your consultation.
