Dr. Joseph Greco III is a Nashville plastic surgeon who is passionate about helping his patients achieve their aesthetic goals. Board-certified by the American Board of Surgery and trained at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, he has extensive experience as a general, trauma, plastic, and reconstructive surgeon. As Chief Medical Officer at NuBody Concepts, Dr. Greco leads a cosmetic surgery team with the vision of restoring beauty and body image to give patients an improved sense of self. His specialties include breast augmentation, tummy tuck, and liposuction.
Dr. Joseph Greco was born in Brooklyn, New York, where he spent his childhood until his family relocated to Georgia during his high school years. Although it was quite a cultural change, he embraced the charm of southern living and matriculated to the University of Georgia in Athens, graduating cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa in 1998. He received his medical doctorate with honors from the Medical College of Georgia School of Medicine in Augusta, where he was named the William Dion Most Outstanding Student in Surgery and inducted into the medical honor society Alpha Omega Alpha for his excellence in scholarship.
As a general surgery resident at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Dr. Greco completed seven years of surgical training. While at Vanderbilt, he served as Chief Resident of the Department of Surgery, completed a two-year research fellowship in plastic surgery, and began his formal plastic surgery training under renowned plastic surgeons Dr. Bruce Shack and Dr. G. Patrick Maxwell. With the knowledge and skills gained at Vanderbilt, Dr. Greco went on to start his own cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery practice near his alma mater while serving as Assistant Professor of Surgery at the newly-formed Georgia Regents / University of Georgia Medical Partnership in Athens. By performing numerous cosmetic procedures on face, breast, and body to restore beauty as well as function, Dr. Greco not only solidified his plastic surgery experience but also developed an increased focus on aesthetics to ensure superior-quality outcomes and patient satisfaction.
In addition to his extensive training, it is Dr. Greco’s ease with patients, his calm and supportive demeanor, and his compassionate bedside manner that set him apart in the field of plastic surgery. His warm and approachable personality helps him build good rapport with his patients to form a bond grounded in the core principles of safety, service, excellent results, and unmatched patient satisfaction. These guiding tenets are the cornerstones of our philosophy at NuBody Concepts, where Dr. Greco has been serving as Chief Medical Officer and Director of Operations and Aesthetic Surgery since March 2015.
“As a plastic surgeon, I was fortunate to find a specialty that utilizes both my eye for simple beauty and the technical expertise I acquired through my extensive education and training. I will debate with anyone that when we feel good about ourselves, our bodies, and the way we project ourselves onto others and the world we interact with, we are happier. What I do puts smiles on people’s faces and makes their lives more fulfilling, and for this reason plastic surgery was the only fit for me. While it is noble to return health and hope and provide relief for those that have fallen ill, it also remains a great privilege to impart touches of joy and elation with improvements in self-esteem and confidence. Working in a practice filled with happy people is a great way to spend a career in medicine. I look forward to helping you achieve your aesthetic goals.”
