Regain Your Physique: Tummy Tuck for Men
Working out goes a long way towards getting – and staying – in shape, but it sometimes doesn’t fix all our problems. Even if you’ve been able to lose weight with a good workout routine and healthy eating habits, you may have extra skin around your abdomen that keeps it from looking as flat as you want. As our skin ages, it loses its elasticity and refuses to shrink back, no matter how many burpees and planks we suffer through.
If you don’t have the flat and toned midsection you’d like to have, a male tummy tuck may be just the answer. Tummy tucks are already among the most popular plastic surgery procedures for women, but in recent years, a growing number of men have also been turning to the tummy tuck to bolster their appearance.

A Tummy Tuck Without General Anesthesia

Every patient is unique. At NuBody Concepts, we customize your procedure to fit your specific needs. To achieve the best results and ensure a fast recovery, we combine IV Sedation with local anesthesia as needed. This allows us to tailor your level of sedation to your preference as well as the invasiveness of the procedure. General anesthesia isn’t necessary. Over many years of performing tummy tucks, we have found that our IV Sedation technique greatly improves the experience for our patients:
- More comfort throughout and after procedure
- Shorter downtime
- Faster recovery
- No general anesthesia and its associated risks
- Affordable procedure
- Excellent results
Are You a Good Candidate for a Male Tummy Tuck?
You are a good candidate for a male tummy tuck if you are in relatively good physical shape, within your target weight range, and unhappy with an excess of skin or fat in the abdominal area.
- Have you undergone significant weight loss that left you with excess skin and/or stretch marks around your midriff?
- Do you regularly diet and exercise, but no matter how hard you work, your stomach does not look completely flat?
- Have you had liposuction to remove fat from your stomach, but did it not tighten your skin sufficiently?
Any of these scenarios are good preconditions for a male tummy tuck.
If you’re still not sure whether you are a good candidate for a tummy tuck, talk to a professional. We invite you to schedule a personal consultation at NuBody Concepts to learn more about your options. If your body type is not ideal for abdominoplasty surgery, a less invasive option such as liposuction might be preferred. Our team has the experience to assess which body contouring option is best suited to achieve the desired outcome.
Your Male Tummy Tuck: What to Expect
What exactly happens during a tummy tuck aka abdominoplasty?
A tummy tuck basically achieves two things: It tightens the underlying abdominal muscles, and it removes excess skin. The incision is made across the lower part of the abdomen. Your plastic surgeon will be careful to place it below the belt line. The surgery is performed as an outpatient procedure and will take anywhere from two to four hours.
Depending on your specific situation, you may only need a mini tummy tuck, which addresses the lower part of the abdomen. You may also benefit from additional liposuction to the waist to reduce the love handles. Liposuction can easily be combined with a tummy tuck to achieve the best overall outcome. A so-called mini-lipoabdominoplasty combines liposuction with a tummy tuck that achieves superior outcomes than either of the procedures alone.
