A Facelift Doesn’t Have to Mean Surgery. Here are Your Options.

It’s time to talk about facelifts.

Or rather, it’s time to talk about other ways you can rejuvenate your face and achieve that radiant, fresh look. It’s a look within your grasp, and it doesn’t have to break the bank. Nor does it have to mean stitches and a long recovery.

Overview: Three Broad Options for Facial Rejuvenation

Essentially, there are three broad categories of facial rejuvenation:

  • Non-invasive treatments
  • Minimally-invasive procedures
  • Surgery

The first contains all your non-permanent treatments, like Botox and dermal fillers. Microdermabrasion, microneedling, laser skin resurfacing, and chemical peels all belong in this group. We’ve talked about these elsewhere and won’t spend too much time on them here.

The third category, facelift surgery, has been around for a long time and is well known. We have also talked about Facelifts before.

What we’d like to focus on today is the middle option: minimally-invasive, non-surgical facelifts. New technologies have made it possible to have great, facelift-like results without the surgery. Before, you had two choices: Permanent results with invasive surgery, or non-permanent results with lots of repeat treatments that can add up to a lot of time and money.

Now you have a third choice: permanent results, no surgery, no repeats.

Sound a bit like having your cake and eating it too? Yes, it sure does. Let’s keep reading to see how this is possible.

How Does a Non-Surgical Facelift Work?

Non-surgical facelifts apply radio frequency (RF) energy to the trouble area. This technique is also known as radio frequency assisted lipolysis (RFAL). Using a wand with a tiny probe that goes under the skin, the surgeon applies controlled heat that causes the collagen under the skin to shrink. This contracts the skin itself and eliminates sagging.

Watch this video to see how it works:

The advantage of this treatment: The results are visible and long-lasting, close to what you’d expect from a facelift, but without the hassles of surgery. No general anesthesia, no downtime to speak of, no incisions, sutures, or scars, no lengthy recovery.

FaceTite (as well as Renuvion) has recently emerged as a popular RFAL procedure for the face. Studies have shown that it achieves up to 45% skin contraction. To achieve that kind of result without surgery is truly breathtaking. In the past, this kind of improvement in skin laxity on the face and neck could only be addressed with a surgical facelift to remove the excess skin*.

With FaceTite, a one-time treatment which takes about 1-2 hours to complete, results will be visible just days after the treatment. A little bit of swelling after any procedure is normal, but once it subsides, the results are there. However, the initial skin contraction will continue to improve for up to a year, meaning you will continue to look younger month to month.

What Areas Can I Have Treated With FaceTite?

Any areas of the face and neck where there is saggy skin can be treated with a non-surgical facelift like FaceTite and Renuvion. Double chin and jowls are popular areas, but any area with deep lines and loose skin can benefit from it.

When you look at your face from the side and can’t make out a well-defined jawline carving out the chin, it may be a sign that you can benefit from FaceTite.

Take a look at this patient:

As you can see above, changing the shape of your jawline is perhaps the best thing you can do to give your face a younger appearance.

Yes, you can invest in a series of repeat treatments. You can reduce your wrinkles with Botox. You can rejuvenate your skin with microdermabrasion and microneedling. You can have dermal fillers injected in your lips. But if you save that money and instead invest it in a simple one-time procedure like FaceTite, you can take years off your appearance in one single, easy, stroke.

By the way, RFAL doesn’t just work on the face. There are great options available for the entire body that you can get as an add-on to liposuction to achieve similar tightening skin results as FaceTite. Check out our skin tightening page for more on that.

Non-Invasive Radio Frequency Skin Tightening Alternatives

As we’ve said above, FaceTite and other RFAL treatments are minimally-invasive. If they just apply heat, why are they not non-invasive?

The answer is that they rely on a tiny probe that is inserted under the skin. Via this probe, the heat is delivered directly to the collagen so it can shrink. Any procedure that is not purely surface-based is considered minimally-invasive, even if it requires little or no sedation.

However, the good news is this: completely non-invasive radio frequency skin tightening treatments do exist. At NuBody Concepts we offer Thermi, Exilis, Forma, Fractora, and Morpheus. All of these can be used to tighten your skin in various areas of the body.

Your results won’t be as dramatic as with FaceTite or BodyTite, but you’ll still see a lasting difference. If you’re looking for a more affordable alternative, or if even a minimally-invasive procedure sounds too elaborate to you, then these non-invasive skin tightening treatments may be just what you’ve been looking for.
