6 Tips for Keeping the Fat Off After Liposuction

Liposuction procedures such as Aqualipo are a great way to eliminate  unwanted/excess fat on your body. It’s designed to help you achieve the slimmer, more contoured body you desire. While it’s an effective solution, and can be a permanent one, it requires a bit of discipline on your part to keep then fat off after liposuction. If you have liposuction without adopting a healthy lifestyle, you risk building new fat deposits in the same places you treated with liposuction.

We love that liposuction lets you almost magically get rid of fat so you can increase your confidence and body image. However, it doesn’t mean the fat is going to magically stay off. That being said, it’s absolutely possible to get the body you want from liposuction and keep it that way by maintaining a healthy lifestyle after the procedure.

Here are six tips to help you maintain your new, contoured figure and keep fat off after liposuction:

1. Start practicing healthy habits before the procedure.

It may sound like a great idea to start a new routine after you’ve gotten the body you want, but that’s actually the worst time to start. Instead of waiting until after a drastic change, it’s best to get into a routine that you can really stick to—before and after your procedure.

2. Drink lots of water each day to support a healthy body.

One of the best things you can do for your health—regardless of your goals—is to drink plenty of water every day. By filling up on water instead of sugary drinks or excess food, you’ll have a much easier time sticking to your health and wellness goals. Plus, drinking water provides many other benefits, like increasing your energy and boosting your immune system.

3. Exercise at least 20–30 minutes each day before and after your procedure.

You don’t need to overdo it on the exercise after having liposuction. Rather, you should aim for 20–30 minutes of light to moderate exercise every day. This will help you maintain your current weight and can decrease certain health risks.

4. Keep your alcohol consumption to a minimum.

Alcohol is laden with unnecessary calories, so we’d recommend keeping your consumption to a minimum after getting liposuction. If you are going to drink, try to avoid drinks mixed with soda or juice, and try to avoid consuming more than two drinks in one sitting.

5. Make sure you’re getting enough sleep every night.

Whether you want to lose weight, maintain your current figure, or just live healthier, getting enough sleep every night is so important to your health and wellness goals. When you sleep well, your body has enough time to recover from the day’s activities and prepare you for the next day. Sleeping well also helps control your appetite, leaving you less likely to overeat or crave junk food during the day.

6. Try to maintain a positive attitude about your body and wellness goals.

While all of these are important factors in maintaining the body you want and keep new fat off after liposuction, having a positive attitude may be the best thing you can do for yourself. Try to be happy and confident in who you are and have positive, realistic expectations for yourself and your body.
